    Tacos on Ice

Try to stop imagining tacos whirling around on ice skates dancing to the sounds of Disney’s Mexico on Ice. Although the show is still running in El Salvador and has been running for 72 weeks straight, I want to draw your attention away and onto the Japanese Buffet. Last weekend, Theresa and I went to Canal City in Fukuoka so we could admire this six story shopping center wrapped around a man-made canal. We had “gelato,” watched some hip-hop dancers, and a guy doing his best to tap dance. That made us a bit hungry so we decided to eat at the buffet.

Like most tabehodai we had a time limit so, we had to act fast. An hour and half can really fly by if you’re not paying attention. Most of the food was pretty good, well except the roast beef smothered in that candy paprika shit they import from Brazil. I was really excited to try the taco bar out. They proudly displayed the Old El Paso taco shell boxes as if they were setting up a display at Ralph’s. I opted for the soft flour tortillas instead and began making my tacos. For some odd reason I didn’t realize where the ingredients were and once I finished making my tacos, Theresa kindly pointed out that everything was being chilled on ice. “No shit! Look at that! The meat is in a dish smashed into the ice, oh and the shells are on ice too!” Well I imagined it couldn’t be so bad, I mean it’s not like the food was cold because it was left out overnight, no! It was meant to be cold! Judgement: Tacos aren’t meant to be cold. But the crepes stuffed with different cakes made everything all better.
