Hotel Karaoke
Pressing my luck further, I decided not to show up to work on Friday. I didn’t bother calling anyone, I just slept in. I figured, if they did call I would just say I had a belly ache. Nobody asked me any questions today about it so that means I scored another paid holiday!!
Theresa and I went out on Saturday night to meet some people that I had met at the NOFX show. It took us a few hours but we finally found them, exactly where they didn’t say they’d be. Shou is in a pop punk band outfit and was playing an acoustic set outside a camera store. I had correctly guessed that he’d ask me to play a song. I obliged, the evidence is on google video somewhere. His set went late which meant Theresa and I missed the last train. Instead of complaining, we went out for ramen and drinks. We called it a night around 3am and headed for our safe haven, Cybac Internet Cafe.
Too bad we were late. All the booths were taken. Theresa and I were homeless for the evening. Without panicking too much I hatched up a plan to kill the time and to possibly get some sleep. We were gonna karaoke! We ordered three hours of Karaoke bliss. Surprisingly, we didn’t sleep at all. The closest I got to sleeping was laying down while belting out, “I think we’re alone now.” The time flew by, and before we knew it, the three hours had passed so we made our way home. We took a long nap and woke up in time to check out Cary’s radio interview. Hey Cary, Yes, I do live on Kyushu, and it’s called Fu-Koo-oh-ka.
Enjoy our ballad
